Hoboken High School Set to Have In Person Graduation - July 8th at JFK Field/ Graduating Class Declines -42% from a Decade Ago

Demarest Senior Prom (HHS)- Circa 1954
The Hoboken Reporter is stating that The Hoboken High School graduation is set for July 8 on JFK field.

Having missed their senior prom and a senior class trip, the graduating class of 2020 at Hoboken High School will get one high school rite of passage: an in-person graduation ceremony.

Hoboken students have been learning from home since March as the COVID-19 virus spread across the state infecting more than 18,744 Hudson County residents and causing more than 1,262 county fatalities.

The New Jersey governor has increased outdoor capacity restrictions, but all guidelines such as social distancing will be enforced.

Little Hoboken Photography has offered free prom photo shoots and pictures to download.

According to district administrators, there are only 87 seniors graduating Hoboken High School. This represents a -42% decline from the 149 seniors of a decade ago (see Figure 1). Such a decline runs counter to district claims of "increasing enrollment" and the need for an unprecedented 9.95% tax increase for 2020-21.
